Adebayo Samuel, DevOps Engineer, based in London. As a DevOps Engineer and AWS Solutions Architect, here are three key reasons that make me stand out.
I design highly, scalable, fault-tolerant architectures, on AWS using services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, and API Gateway. I ensure cost-optimization with best practices like auto-scaling, serverless computing, and reserved instances to balance performance and budget.
I build end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS CodePipeline, to enable fast and reliable deployments. I automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible, ensuring immutable infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
I enforce least privilege access using IAM policies , AWS Organizations, and service control policies (SCPs). I integrate security scanning in CI/CD pipelines using tools like Trivy, SonarQube, and AWS Inspector to identify vulnerabilities early.

Oritamefa Baptist Nursery & Primary
I began my educational journey at Oritamefa Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Ibadan, where I developed a strong foundation in academics. For my secondary education, I attended Loyola College, Ibadan, a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence. During my time there, I completed my Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSSCE) and progressed to SS1, where I was placed in SS1 X—the best science class in the school. This class stood out because it was the only one that made Further Mathematics compulsory, attracting some of the brightest students with aspirations in engineering, medicine, and other STEM-related fields. Many of my classmates from that class have since gone on to become successful medical doctors and engineers.
Airforce Secondary School, Makurdi
After completing SS1, I transferred to Airforce Secondary School in Makurdi to continue my senior secondary education. There, I was part of an exceptionally high-achieving cohort, and in 1997, we recorded one of the best Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) results in the school’s history. That same year, I gained admission to the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, to study Agricultural Engineering.
University of Agriculture, Makurdi
My years at the university were transformative, allowing me to deepen my understanding of engineering principles and their applications in agriculture. The rigorous academic curriculum, combined with hands-on practical experience, equipped me with the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary for a career in engineering. After years of dedication and hard work, I successfully graduated in 2005, marking a significant milestone in my educational and professional journey.
